Open Evening – September 2024 Entry
For anyone who missed our Open Evening in June, there will be a catch-up information evening for parents and carers on Thursday 28th September 2023 from 5:00-6:00pm. Please note that this is aimed at parents and carers rather than children – you will have an opportunity to look around the school but it is not an interactive event like the one in June.
Please refer to the school prospectus for more information: Prospectus – 2024 Entry
Please refer also to our September 2024 Admissions Policy. This is published on our website at https://www.clrchs.co.uk/school-information/admissions/ along with a summary of the process for applying for a secondary school place, further information about which can be found on the Rochdale Council website https://www.rochdale.gov.uk/school-admissions-appeals/apply-secondary-school-place
Opening Evening for September Entry into Year 7:
Thursday 29th June 2023 (5:00pm-7:00pm) – Address by the Headteacher at 5.00pm & 6:00pm.
It is with great pleasure that I invite you and your family to our Open Evening on Thursday 29th June. This is an interactive event for Year 4 and Year 5 pupils who will be moving up to secondary school in September 2024 and 2025.
The evening is designed to give children, parents and carers a taste of what our school community and facilities have to offer and to help you as a family come to the right decision about your child’s next steps into high school.
There will be current students on hand to guide you around the various displays and activities taking place across the school and to speak to you about their experiences here at Cardinal Langley. You will also meet the many members of staff who will be supporting your son or daughter during their time with us.
In the meantime, there is a short video below to give you a flavour of what we have to offer. Please also have a browse of our website where you can find information such as our school policies, term dates, school uniform requirements, etc.as well as editions of the school newsletter ‘The Voice’ and details of our curriculum, including our entitlement curriculum for Key Stage 3. You can also find out about all the latest Cardinal Langley news by following us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/clrchs1959
Our curriculum is designed to stretch and challenge students of all abilities and potential and there is a wealth of extra-curricular, clubs, trips and activities on offer to help your child develop their interests and make new friends.
There is a very strong spiritual culture and ethos here in school. Children are encouraged to help those less fortunate than themselves and get involved with the various social projects and fundraising activities for the charities that the school supports. We are proud of our Catholic character but also of our diversity and everyone is most welcome within our school community, regardless of faith.
Please may I take this opportunity to bring to your attention our September 2024 Admissions Policy, which is published on our website https://www.clrchs.co.uk/school-information/admissions/ along with a summary of the process for applying for a secondary school place, further information about which can be found on the Rochdale Council website https://www.rochdale.gov.uk/school-admissions-appeals/apply-secondary-school-place
I hope that you can find the time to join us on Thursday 29th June and look forward to meeting you.
If you are arriving by car, please drive around to the rear of the school where there will be ample parking spaces.
