Open Evening – September 2025 Entry

Dear Parent/Carer,

Opening Evening for September Entry into Year 7:
Thursday 27th June 2024 (5:00pm-7:00pm) – Address by the Headteacher at 5.00pm & 6:00pm.

It is with great pleasure that I invite you and your family to our Open Evening on Thursday 27th June. This is an interactive event for Year 4 and Year 5 pupils who will be moving up to secondary school in September 2025 and 2026.

The evening is designed to give children, parents and carers a taste of what our school community and facilities have to offer and to help you as a family come to the right decision about your child’s next steps into high school.

There will be current students on hand to guide you around the various displays and activities taking place across the school and to speak to you about their experiences here at Cardinal Langley. You will also meet the many members of staff who will be supporting your son or daughter during their time with us.

In the meantime, there is a short video below to give you a flavour of what we have to offer.  Please also have a browse of our website where you can find information such as our school policies, term dates, school uniform requirements, etc.as well as editions of the school newsletter ‘The Voice’ and details of our curriculum, including our entitlement curriculum for Key Stage 3. You can also find out about all the latest Cardinal Langley news by following us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/clrchs1959

Our curriculum is designed to stretch and challenge students of all abilities and potential and there is a wealth of extra-curricular, clubs, trips and activities on offer to help your child develop their interests and make new friends.

There is a very strong spiritual culture and ethos here in school. Children are encouraged to help those less fortunate than themselves and get involved with the various social projects and fundraising activities for the charities that the school supports. We are proud of our Catholic character but also of our diversity and everyone is most welcome within our school community, regardless of faith.

Please may I take this opportunity to bring to your attention our September 2025 Admissions Policy, which is published on our website https://www.clrchs.co.uk/school-information/admissions/ along with a summary of the process for applying for a secondary school place, further information about which can be found on the Rochdale Council website https://www.rochdale.gov.uk/school-admissions-appeals/apply-secondary-school-place

I hope that you can find the time to join us on Thursday 27th June and look forward to meeting you.

If you are arriving by car, please drive around to the rear of the school where there will be ample parking spaces.

Yours faithfully

Mr A Bridson
