Open Evening – September 2026 Entry
Information Catch-Up Session – Tuesday 30th September 2025 at 5:00pm
If you have a child in Year 6, and you are considering applying for a Year 7 place here at Cardinal Langley, our Open Evening for 2026 entry took place last term.
If you missed this opportunity, we are planning a catch-up information session on Tuesday 30th September 2025, starting at 5.00pm with an address by the Headteacher. There will also be an opportunity to tour the school and have any questions/queries answered. Please note that this is not an interactive event like our June open evening and it is aimed more at parents/carers than children.
If you would like to attend, please email us at admin@clrchs.co.uk to let us know.
If your child is in Year 11, they will be considering their next move into further education and our Sixth Form Open Evening is on Thursday 6th November 2025 from 5.00pm – 7.00pm.
Our next main open evening for September 2027 entry into Y7 is planned for Thursday 25th June 2026. More details will follow.

Dear Parent/Carer,
Opening Evening: Thursday 26th June 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm
(Headteacher’s address in the school hall at 5:00pm and 6:00pm)
It is with great pleasure that I invite you and your family to our open evening on Thursday 26th June 2025. This is an interactive event for Year 4 and Year 5 pupils who will be moving up to secondary school in September 2026 and 2027.
The evening is designed to give children, parents and carers a taste of what our school community and facilities have to offer and to help you as a family come to the right decision about your child’s next steps into high school.
There will be current students on hand to guide you around the various displays and activities taking place across the school and to speak to you about their experiences here at Cardinal Langley. You will also meet the many members of staff who will be supporting your child during their time with us.
In the meantime, there is a short video below to give you a flavour of what we have to offer. Please also have a browse of our website where you can find information such as our school policies, term dates, school uniform requirements, etc.as well as editions of the school newsletter ‘The Voice’ and details of our curriculum, including our entitlement curriculum for Key Stage 3. You can also find out about all the latest Cardinal Langley news by following us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/clrchs1959
Our curriculum is designed to stretch and challenge students of all abilities and potential and there is a wealth of extra-curricular, clubs, trips and activities on offer to help your child develop their interests and make new friends. There is a very strong spiritual culture and ethos here in school. Children are encouraged to help those less fortunate than themselves and get involved with the various social projects and fundraising activities for the charities that the school supports. We are proud of our Catholic character but also of our diversity and everyone is most welcome within our school community, regardless of faith.
Our admissions arrangements are published on the following page of the school website https://www.clrchs.co.uk/school-information/admissions/
I hope that you can find the time to join us on Thursday 26th June and look forward to meeting you.
If you are arriving by car, please be aware that parking on the school site is limited. There is street parking opposite the school but please do not park in the bus bays or cycle lanes or block any of our neighbours’ driveways. There is overspill parking at the nearby Hopwood Hall College Middleton Campus (main car park).
If you want to try out our public transport links and leave the car at home, the 17 service runs regularly between Manchester Shudehill and Rochdale bus stations via Middleton and stops directly outside of the school, as does the 434 service which runs between Middleton and Rochdale via Boarshaw. The 129 Hollin circular runs from Middleton bus station via Stanycliffe Lane. Links to bus timetables can be found here: https://www.clrchs.co.uk/parents-students/school-bus-services/
Yours faithfully,
Mr A Bridson
