Headteacher Letter 19 March 20

Dear Parent / Carer

Our school will continue to be open today and tomorrow for all year groups except Years 9 and 12.

The Government announcement yesterday that schools will close at the end of Friday means that we will be implementing our contingency plan for online learning to start on Monday. I will send further details regarding this tomorrow.

Our school was already planning to continue to provide a daily meal for students who are entitled to free school meals and this will also be in place for Monday. We will also be in a position to provide supervision for the children of NHS staff, emergency services and other key workers. In order for us to plan the staffing levels required for Monday, I would be grateful if you would inform me by 9.00am on Friday if you require this support and provide the names of children who will be attending. Please email admin@clrchs.co.uk with ‘Key Worker’ in the email subject. We will be making individual contact today with those who have an EHCP or social worker to discuss what support you will require.

The announcement regarding GCSE and A-level exams was unexpected. Unfortunately there was no detail with the announcement and will need to wait for more guidance from the Government before we can answer the many questions I am sure you will have if this affects your son / daughter. We will be using the next 2 days for students to collate their work should the exam boards require any more evidence before awarding grades.

I am sure you appreciate that this is a national emergency and I will provide you with more details as soon as I can.

Regards
Mr A Bridson
