Headteacher Letter 16 March 20

Dear Parent / Carer

School is open as usual but it is important that you follow the latest guidance and if any student has a new continuous cough or high temperature then they must stay at home for the next 7 days. The full guidance from Public Health England can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

We are continuing to stress to students that personal hygiene is the most important way we can tackle Coronavirus, especially washing hands more; and the catch it, bin it, kill it strategy for those with coughs and sneezes. I appreciate that you are reinforcing this message at home and ask you to continue.

The current Government advice is for schools to remain open but we have been proactive in developing a contingency plan should this change. Teachers have been trained on the use of Microsoft Teams and this will be used for online learning if necessary. In the event of an enforced closure, it is our intention to have materials online for the following day so that learning can continue as close to normal as possible. Attached is our student guide for Microsoft Teams which is also available on our school website. I would be grateful if you would check that your son / daughter can access this from home.

I will continue to provide regular updates with the latest information so we can work together to support our young people.

 Regards
