DfE Performance Tables ~ January 2019

Performance Tables 2018
Wednesday 30th January 2019

Dear Parents / Carers

At Cardinal Langley we are incredibly proud of the results achieved by our students. In 2017 the school was graded Good by Ofsted and Outstanding by the Diocese of Salford, as well as being featured in the Parliamentary Review to showcase the excellent practice at the school. Our Sixth Form results are consistently in the top 25% of schools nationally and in 2018 we were runner up in the Educate North West Awards in the ‘most inspirational 16-18 provider’ category.

The publication of the recent GCSE performance tables shows that we are above the local average in the Attainment 8 measure with 94% of students getting the qualifications they needed to continue in education or enter employment. The published Progress 8 measure, however, does not take into account the context of the school and improves significantly if this is included. The quality of education at Cardinal Langley can only be judged accurately if a range of measures are used and in our regular editions of the Voice you can see the wonderful opportunities our students experience.

Our staff and students work incredibly hard and we have recently received 51 nominations in the national Pearson Teaching Awards. We are looking forward with confidence that our 2019 results will reflect more accurately the high quality of education we provide.

Yours faithfully

Mr A Bridson
